Bengtzon is a complex woman who can be hard and tough one minute and reduced to tears the next. Nevertheless, she is portrayed as a highly capable modern professional woman.

Sir Henry Merrivale is one of the most entertaining, arrogant and easily aroused figures in the world of crime fiction. He has a high position in the British security services and drives government bureaucrats crazy. In addition, he solves a whole row of so-called impossible crimes in stories by Carter Dickson, a pseudonym for John Dickson Carr. Merrivale has a large family, and in physical appearance resembles Winston Churchill.

Katrin Lindwall
Female
She is a central figure in three novels by K. Arne Blom about police unit EEV2229. The books were written in 1979-81, but they are set in a corrupt society in 1999. Detective Inspector Katrin Lindwall, 41 years old, has a narrow face with full lips and broad shoulders and has a page haircut. She is married to a politician, Ored, and has a son, Evert. She also suffers from breast cancer.

Fin Macleod

A middle-aged, ordinary security director and former police detective in Edinburgh, who moves to the island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides after his son has been killed in a road accident.
