Male
Delaware is a child psychologist in Los Angeles who is consulted by the LA police department. He is not satisfied with only the police investigations, and continues on his own in a series of novels by Jonathan Kellerman. Delaware is an intelligent, emotionally insecure person, which comes to the fore in his relationship with his girlfriend Robin Castagna.

Ewert Grens
Male
Middle-aged detective chief inspector in Stockholm, ordinary-looking, with thinning hair and a wrinkled face. He suffers from a severe trauma: his wife Anni suffered severe brain damage in an accident that he caused. Now Ewert Grens visits her every day in the care home. His only consolation is the songs sung by Siw Malmkvist, and he is always listening to them in the novels by Anders Roslund – the early novels were written together with Börge Hellström.

In the second book he has been promoted to state trooper working closely together with the middle-aged chief of police, Judy Hammer. Besides, she solved murders – for which the police resented her – in the books that Alan Bradley has written about her.
