Thomas ‘Tom’ Ripley became an orphan when he was five years old, and was brought up by a callous female relative. He later marries the wealthy Héloïse Plisson, but nevertheless has successfully continued his criminal career.

Ellery Queen the author son of Inspector Richard Queen of the NYPD, who now and then requires the help of his son on a particularly difficult case. He was created by the two cousins Manfred B.
