Inspector Jarnebring is from Dalarna county in Sweden, but he works in Stockholm. He is a former elite athlete. Jarnebring is divorced from his former wife Annika. They have two sons. He was introduced in Leif G. W. Persson’s "Grisfesten" and has subsequently had a number of more or less prominent roles in Persson’s novels. Jarnebring likes to work with his best friend Lars Martin Johansson.

He works for the Oslo police and solves crime in a string of books by the Norwegian author Kjell Ola Dahl. Gunnarstranda can be cynical and disillusioned, but he is also kind and helpful. He general works alongside his seargeant, Frank Frølich.

Bjørn Beltø

Norwegian archaeologist, who solves mysteries with religious connections in a suite of novels by Tom Egeland. Bjørn Beltø is just over 30 years old and is an albino, which means that he has poor vision and pale skin. He is single and finds it hard to get relationships to work, despite certain women being interested in him. He periodically suffers from anxiety, and then prefers to sit at home and listen to classical music.

His chronicler, Dr. Watson, and his address at 221B Baker Street in London are almost as famous. Arthur Conan Doyle wrote four novels and five short story collections about the detective. Holmes has since featured in thousands of stories by other authors, both as Sherlock Holmes and under a number of aliases.
