Chan is also the protagonist in a couple of dozen films that together with the books have made him a classic character.

He is a large man with a high forehead, a broad nose, thick curly hair and thick eyebrows.

Her father is Polish and her mother was Jewish – and she has more lovers than she has friends according to the author, Sara Paretsky.
