Conny Sjöberg is a middle-aged, unusually ordinary man, happily married to Åsa; they have five children. He is described as handsome, empathetic, sensitive and honest. According to author Carin Gerhardsen, he is partly modelled on her husband Ken.

He is around 30 years old, and his family in the flat in Smithfield consists of his little daughter and a dog. He has sleeping problems and is still in love with his ex-wife. And he is a good boxer…

Robbie (Robert) Lewis

A jolly, patient and methodical detective sergeant in Oxford, who is the right hand and faithful companion of the somewhat gruffy Chief Inspector Morse in the crime novels by Colin Dexter. Lewis’ first name is rarely mentioned in the books, and in the TV series he is called Robbie. In the novels, he is happily married to Valerie and they have two children; in the later TV series, in which he is the main character, he is an older widower.
