Female
Her mother is English, her father from Jamaica and she (Linda Martinez) is a police officer in Stockholm. She makes a quick career, and becomes the head of the investigative section. She was introduced in a TV series by Jan Guillou and Leif G.W. Persson in the 1990s, and has since then played a more or less large role in several of Persson’s books. She doesn’t like to talk about her private life, but she can be very blunt and direct, and likes strong beer.

She is young and beautiful and she is a skilful police officer. When Lise Delorme is sent to work in Algonquin Bay in Ontario in Canada, it is not only to work on cases of violent crime, but also – in secret – to investigate a suspected network of bribery in the local police force. As a whole, art historian Robert Langdon is not exactly handsome – even though he has been compared with Harrison Ford – but he is a knowledgeable expert on symbols and the main character in a row of controversial novels by Dan Brown, where Langdon without hesitation questions Christian symbols and accepted religious history.

Detective Diane Fry, who features in a string of novels by Stephen Booth, is a competent investigator, but under the surface she is an insecure and vulnerable woman.
