He is around 50 years old, thin with streaks of grey in his hair, and has a narrow moustache.

Bo Jarnebring

Inspector Jarnebring is from Dalarna county in Sweden, but he works in Stockholm. He is a former elite athlete. Jarnebring is divorced from his former wife Annika. They have two sons. He was introduced in Leif G. W. Persson’s "Grisfesten" and has subsequently had a number of more or less prominent roles in Persson’s novels. Jarnebring likes to work with his best friend Lars Martin Johansson.

But he is well aware of the city’s less savoury sides, and the memory of crimes he has investigated has meant that he chain-smokes and also drinks too much – which greatly upsets his Muslim wife Fatma. Together the couple have a lot of children and the number steadily grows in Barbara Nadel’s books about him.

Thomas ‘Tom’ Ripley became an orphan when he was five years old, and was brought up by a callous female relative. He later marries the wealthy Héloïse Plisson, but nevertheless has successfully continued his criminal career.
