Several television productions have been based on Colin Dexter’s Morse books. With her red hair and in good physical condition, Mario Kallio is a tough (and if necessary even harsh) feminist who appreciates a good whisky – in reasonable measures.

Sir Henry Merrivale is one of the most entertaining, arrogant and easily aroused figures in the world of crime fiction. He has a high position in the British security services and drives government bureaucrats crazy. In addition, he solves a whole row of so-called impossible crimes in stories by Carter Dickson, a pseudonym for John Dickson Carr. Merrivale has a large family, and in physical appearance resembles Winston Churchill.

Approximately 30 years old, Kristin Bye is a famous TV journalist and personality in her home country, Norway. Her creator, Tom Egeland, describes her as tall and slim, with green eyes and reddish-brown hair. She is interested in mysticism, which is not always appreciated by her good friend and colleague, veteran journalist Gunnar Borg. She lives alone but has a long-term relationship with Christoffer, a docusoap celebrity actor.
