    Contrary to many other fictional investigators, Inspector Konrad Sejer of the Oslo police is a calm and collected person without stomach problems. His closest friends are his daughter and his dogs, Kollberg is one of them. Sejer is an efficient investigator who solves murder cases in Karin Fossum’s much-acclaimed, internationally renowned novels.

    A 30-year-old bounty hunter, quick-witted and sexy, with brown curly hair. She works in Trenton, New Jersey, her creator Janet Evanovich tells us. She stumbled into her profession by chance when she was unemployed. She is single – although she co-habits with her hamster Rex – and has two handsome admirers in the police officer and childhood friend Joe Morelli and her professional colleague Carlos ‘Ranger’ Mañoso.

    Female

    A tall and slim police lieutenant in New York, the main character in a long suite of crime novels by J.D. Robb (pseudonym for Nora Roberts) set in the mid-21st century. Eve Dallas is of muscular build, has brown matted hair, whisky-coloured eyes and sharp facial features. She is tough and skilled in her job, and in her private life is married to businessman Roarke, who has a dubious background.

  • Carl Mørk

    Inspector Carl Mørk lost interest in his job after two of his colleagues were shot – one of them fatally, the other was seriously injured. Nonetheless, he was put in charge of Department Q, the Danish police cold case group. He solves a series of crimes in collaboration with his closest co-workers, the secretary Rose Knutsen and Hafez el-Assad, in a string of books by Jussi Adler-Olsen.
