His closest friends are his daughter and his dogs, Kollberg is one of them. Sejer is an efficient investigator who solves murder cases in Karin Fossum’s much-acclaimed, internationally renowned novels.

Alex Morrow

Morrow is a working class detective from Glasgow. She is the mother of twins and the protagonist in a series of tartan noir books by Denise Mina. Morrow is not always very forthcoming or correct, but she struggles to combine her job with being a mother and against misogynous bosses and colleagues in a city characterised by increasing class differences and violent crime.

Ted (Edward) Conkaffey

Edward Conkaffey, better known as Ted, lost both his job and family after having been accused of molesting a young girl sexually. He was exonerated of all charges, but as persistent rumours didn't fade away, he's now living on his own with a dog and seven geese. He's tall and muscular, with black hair and blue eyes. He sometimes teams up with a young female detective, Amanda Pharrell, in books by Candice Fox.
