Arsène Lupin
Male
The name of this gentleman thief and amateur detective is Raoul d’Andrèsy, but he is better known to readers of the French author Maurice Leblanc’s stories as Arsène Lupin. The classic, fiendishly cunning thief is a classic character in mystery fiction, he even dupes Sherlock Holmes (alias Herlock Sholmes). After Leblanc’s death his character has been taken over by other authors.

Yashim Togalu
Male
He is tall, well-built, aged between 30 and 40, with curly black hair and a nice moustache. He is also a eunuch, and he investigates murders and other crimes in 19th century Istanbul on the orders of the sultan, whom he faithfully serves. Yashim Togalu is not uninterested in women, according to author Jason Goodwin, but he understandably prefers to devote his time to cooking, French novels and mysteries.

Paddy Meehan

When Patricia ‘Paddy’ Meehan gets a job with a newspaper in Glasgow, she is overjoyed. The job isn’t as much fun as she had hoped, but after having solved a murder case she is promoted to crime reporter – and can solve some more cases. Detective Superintendent in Brighton, 40+. When he isn’t solving murders in a number of books by Peter James, he is searching for his wife, Sandy. She vanished without trace on his 30th birthday, and when he does finally succeed in tracing her, he discovers that he has a son, Bruno. Roy Grace has short, blond hair, a somewhat bent nose, and he drives an Aston Martin. He eventually has a new partner, Cloe, and yet another child.
