Approximately 30 years old, Kristin Bye is a famous TV journalist and personality in her home country, Norway. Her creator, Tom Egeland, describes her as tall and slim, with green eyes and reddish-brown hair. She is interested in mysticism, which is not always appreciated by her good friend and colleague, veteran journalist Gunnar Borg. She lives alone but has a long-term relationship with Christoffer, a docusoap celebrity actor.

Vincent Ruiz has a history of 43 years as a police officer in London, three marriages and just as many divorces. He does, however, have good contact with his ex-wives as well as his children. As a whole, art historian Robert Langdon is not exactly handsome – even though he has been compared with Harrison Ford – but he is a knowledgeable expert on symbols and the main character in a row of controversial novels by Dan Brown, where Langdon without hesitation questions Christian symbols and accepted religious history.

A tall and slim police lieutenant in New York, the main character in a long suite of crime novels by J.D. Robb (pseudonym for Nora Roberts) set in the mid-21st century. Eve Dallas is of muscular build, has brown matted hair, whisky-coloured eyes and sharp facial features. She is tough and skilled in her job, and in her private life is married to businessman Roarke, who has a dubious background.
