  • Harriet Blue

    Female

    She is a police detective in Australia, and has specialised in solving sex crimes. Harriet Blue, called Harry by her friends, was born in 1981, is short in stature (155 cm), has blue eyes and black hair, and is well-known for her stubbornness. The only person close to her is her brother Sam. How she solves her cases is described in books that the American author James Patterson and Australian Candice Fox write together.

  • Anna Holt

    Female

    Anna Holt is a police officer, later commissioner of police, in Stockholm. She is the creation of authors Jan Guillou and Leif G.W. Persson who wrote the screenplay for a series of television episodes about her in the 1990s. Over the years, she has featured in some of the novels each has written independently. Holt is a complex woman, a determined and inventive investigator and a skilled interrogator.

  • Amanda Pharrell

    Female

    One night as a college student, Amanda Pharrell had a nightmare in which she was being raped. In the darkness of her room she defended herself, and ended up stabbing someone to death – a young woman. Having spent seven years in prison, Amanda Pharrell has now reinvented herself as a private detective in a sparsely populated corner of Australia. Her Author Candice Fox describes her as being petite with blue eyes and orange hair.

  • Patrik Hedstrom

    Male

    He is employed as a detective inspector in Tanumshede, western Sweden, but spends most of his time in Fjällbacka, where he lives and – together with his wife, author Erica Falck – solves a row of murder cases in the books by Camilla Läckberg. Patrik Hedstrom is partly based on Läckberg’s first husband, and is described as a ‘completely ordinary guy’, but he is a skilled crime investigator with quite a lot of charm.
