American author and published, was born in Annapolis, Maryland, and grew up in Savannah in Georgia. She studied Creative Writing at the University of Mississippi, where she also graduated with a B.A. in Journalism in 1965. She then worked as a reporter, first in New Orleans, Louisiana, and then for several years for the San Francisco Chronicle. For a while, she was also the press spokesman for a district attorney’s office. She moved from California back to New Orleans where, together with some acquaintances who dreamed of becoming writers – among them, Marcia Muller – in 1979 she co-founded Invisible Ink, a freelance company for the production and editing of texts. In 1995, she married businessman Lee Pryor.
