Jack O’Connell is an American teacher and author known for his noir fantasy Quinsigamond novels. He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and he has lived all his life in or near the city. In 1965, he was enrolled at the Blessed Sacrament School and attended the school until it was closed in 1972 when he went over to the Worcester Central Catholic School. In 1973, he enrolled at the St. John’s High School in neighbouring Shrewsbury, graduating in 1977. He continued at the College of the Holy Cross, where he was awarded an MA in 1981. It was also where he met his future wife Nancy Murphy; they were married in 1982. He then worked as an insurance agent until 1996 when he began to teach literature at the College of the Holy Cross. He lives in Worcester with his wife and two children.
