The British author, editor and musician Michael John Moorcock is something of a phenomenon. He began his career as the editor of a comic magazine. Today, he is a prize-winning novelist named by The Times as one of Britain’s most important post-war authors. He is considered a pioneer within new wave science fiction and a central figure in modern fantasy fiction. Moorcock is also the author of several acclaimed contemporary novels. His books are widely translated, most frequently into French and Japanese. He has also written rock lyrics based on motifs from his books, he is politically active and describes himself as an anarchist. His controversial texts have even been debated in parliament.
