Jan Mehlum is a Norwegian author and sociologist born in Tønsberg, Vestfold county. He has worked in management and teacher training, he has owned a cinema and he has worked as a press officer for a chain of cinemas, he has taught at the BI Nydalen school of economics, he has been an assistant lecturer at Vestfold University College (HiVe) and he has been involved in local politics for the Norwegian Socialist Left Party. Mehlum has been a full-time author since 2014.
