Tom Kristensen is a Norwegian economist, engineer and author born in Tjøme, Vestfold county. He has won fame as a writer of financial thrillers. Kristensen was educated at Kongsberg Engineering College and at the Bergen School of Economics, graduating in 1981. He later worked for Statens Teknologiske Institutt in Kristiansand until he moved to Oslo.
