André Bjerke was a prominent figure on the Norwegian culture scene in the 1990s. He was an authority on Norwegian post-war literature and language, a translator, editor, critic and renowned chess player, but most of all he was the author of non-fiction, children’s books, crime fiction, essays and poetry, for which he is best known. His erudition earned him the epithet "Renaissance man".

Sarah Keate

Young, intelligent nurse who works at a hospital as well as privately. She is careful and conscientious, and soon discovers that something is wrong – which it always is in the novels by Mignon G. Eberhart. Sarah Keate is a fairly good amateur detective, but to solve cases she is often assisted by the investigations carried out by police officer Lance O’Leary – but they don’t work together.
