Hammesfahr, Petra

Petra Hammesfahr is an award-winning, bestselling German author of crime fiction. All her principal characters are women. She was born in Titz, Nordrhein-Westfalen, where she still lives, and grew up in nearby Kirchherten and Niederembt. She also lived in Kirch-Grottenherten and other places before she settled in Kerpen near Cologne in 1977. An avid reader as child, she joined a retail training programme at the age of 13.
