Andrew Garve is the best known of the three pseudonyms that the English journalist and author Paul Winterton made use of when he wrote crime fiction: the other two are Roger Bax and Paul Somers. Winterton also wrote political non-fiction works under his own name. He is well known in his native country but has not received very much attention in, for example, Sweden, despite the fact that more than half a dozen of his books have been translated and a couple of the detective stories have been described as classics in the genre. He is also one of the founders of the CWA (Crime Writers’ Association) and has also been its secretary.
