Charles Grant Blairfindie Allen was a British philosopher, natural scientist and journalist. His support for evolutionary theory, socialism, agnosticism and the emancipation of women made him a controversial figure in late 19th century Britain. Not only did he write a large number of scientific works, he was also the author of horror, crime, adventure and science fiction stories.
